Cables Needed for Resnet

If you choose to use wired Resnet, you should set up your computer and plug it in with a Category 5 or 6 Ethernet cable. This is the same type of cable that you would connect your computer to high speed internet at home. If you need to purchase a cable, the Campus Computer Store is a convenient location that will have these cables.

Please be aware that a Category 5 or 6 crossover cable will not work.You can tell the difference by looking at the connectors of the cable side by side, if the colored wires inside the plastic housing are in the same order on both connectors, then you have an Ethernet Cable. If they are not, it is most likely a crossover cable.
